Ipoh Casting manufactures a full range of split flange couplings (muff couplings) from 2″ up to 16″
High strength and ductility gravity cast aluminium muff coupling for use with suction slurry hose. Casting the bulk demand in gravity allows us to have a grest cost advantaged compared to traditionally sand cast parts. We manufacture the 3, 4, 6 & 8″ in this method with the lower volume parts still cast in sand.
The gravity casting allows the part to have a number of benefits:
- Gravity castings give greater strength than sand.
- Gravity castings allow a wider range of alloys, where a sand cast part has 3% ductility we can go up to 7% using either LM6 or LM20.
- Greater precision with gravity castings keeping a +/-0.5mm to a sand casting 1→2+mm
- As the castings are made from a permanent mould each casting is almost identical.
